Liquid facelift in severna park
non-surgical facial rejuvenation technique
You’ve noticed the changes, and usually they’re subtle at first: a little hollowness under your eyes, or deepening creases around your nose and mouth. Though you may feel concerned, many people at this stage are not ready for surgery. They simply want an effective treatment that can combat these earlier signs of aging without the downtime.
If this sounds like you, a liquid facelift might be exactly what you’ve been searching for, whether or not you have named it yet. At Profile MD in Severna Park, Dr. Jared Mallalieu and our team offer this highly customized treatment to help patients reclaim a naturally youthful appearance without surgery.
What Is a Liquid Facelift?
A liquid facelift is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation technique that combines dermal fillers and neuromodulators like Botox to address several common signs of facial aging. Rather than tightening skin through surgery, a liquid facelift works by restoring lost facial volume, smoothing dynamic wrinkles and relaxing the muscles that cause them.
As we age, the face naturally loses collagen and subcutaneous fat, which can begin as early as our late 20s and accelerates through the 30s and 40s. According to research published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, facial fat compartments deflate over time, sometimes in asymmetrical patterns, causing a sunken or sagging appearance that surgical tightening alone can’t fully correct. Dermal fillers address this directly, bringing back volume where it’s been lost.
Here’s how the two components work together:
- Dermal fillers (such as Juvederm, Restylane or Sculptra) are injectable gels that restore volume to areas like the cheeks, under-eye hollows, nasolabial folds and lips. They can also enhance and redefine the jawline and chin.
- Neuromodulators like Botox or Dysport relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles (crow’s feet, forehead lines and frown lines) so the skin above them can smooth out.
Together, they create a result that looks refreshed and natural, not frozen or overfilled. The strategy is to provide exactly the lift or smoothing needed, exactly where it is needed, to better bring out your natural features.
Who Is a Liquid Facelift For?
A liquid facelift works well for a broad range of patients, though it’s most commonly sought by people in their 30s through 60s who are starting to notice the early-to-moderate effects of facial aging. You might be a good candidate for a liquid facelift if:
- You’ve noticed volume loss in your cheeks, temples or under-eye area
- Nasolabial folds or marionette lines are becoming more prominent
- You have dynamic wrinkles that appear when you smile, squint or furrow your brow
- Your jawline or chin has lost some definition
- You want a refreshed look without surgery or significant recovery time
- You’ve tried injectables individually and are ready for a more comprehensive approach
A liquid facelift is not a permanent solution and won’t replicate the results of surgery. Patients with more significant skin laxity or volume loss may ultimately find that surgical options, including a traditional facelift, deliver more dramatic, longer-lasting improvement. Dr. Mallalieu will talk through all of your options during a consultation so you can make a decision that actually makes sense for you.
Your Liquid Facelift Experience at Profile MD
The Consultation
Every liquid facelift at Profile MD begins with a thorough consultation. Dr. Mallalieu takes the time to understand your concerns, map your facial anatomy and walk through realistic approaches and expectations with you. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, voice any concerns you have and leave with a clear picture of what your treatment plan looks like.
The Treatment
Treatment sessions typically take anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour, depending on how many areas are being addressed. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to keep you comfortable, and most fillers also contain a local anesthetic (lidocaine) built in. Botox or Dysport injections are quick and largely painless.
You’ll be awake and relaxed throughout; there’s no sedation involved. Most patients describe the experience as very manageable, and many schedule appointments during a lunch break or between errands.
Recovery and Aftercare
One of the biggest advantages of the liquid facelift over surgery is the minimal recovery time. Most patients experience some mild swelling, redness or bruising at injection sites, which typically resolves within a few days. You can return to most normal activities right away, though we generally recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat and blood-thinning medications or supplements for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment.
Results from neuromodulators like Botox are typically visible within three to seven days and last three to four months on average. Dermal filler results are immediate (with full results visible once swelling subsides) and can last anywhere from six months to two or more years, depending on the product used and the area treated.
Follow-Up and Maintenance
Maintaining your results is straightforward. Many patients return every three to four months for Botox touch-ups and every 12 to 18 months for filler maintenance.. Profile MD also offers a membership program that makes staying on a consistent treatment schedule more affordable.

Liquid Facelifts Lift FAQs
Individual Botox or filler treatments target specific concerns in isolation. A liquid facelift is a comprehensive approach that combines both modalities to address a wider treatment area and multiple kinds of concerns at the same time for more harmonious results.
Results vary depending on the products used and the areas treated. Botox typically lasts three to four months, while dermal fillers can last anywhere from six months to two or more years.
Most patients describe the experience as very tolerable. Topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most filler products contain lidocaine to increase comfort during injection. Neuromodulator injections are quick and minimally uncomfortable.
There’s no universal age cutoff. Patients in their 30s often seek liquid facelifts for early-stage volume loss or preventive maintenance, while patients in their 50s and 60s may use them to address more advanced aging.
A surgical facelift physically lifts and repositions tissues, removes excess skin and delivers more dramatic, longer-lasting results. A liquid facelift is non-surgical, requires no incisions or anesthesia, and has minimal downtime. The trade-off is that its results are temporary and more subtle.
Common side effects include temporary swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness at injection sites. Serious complications are rare when treatment is performed by an experienced, medically trained provider like Dr. Mallalieu.
Absolutely. While our practice is based in Severna Park, we regularly serve patients from across the Baltimore area, including Annapolis, Arnold, Glen Burnie and surrounding communities.
