Treatment happens in two general stages. First, the surgeon infuses a watery lidocaine solution under your skin to numb the area. Secondly, the doctor heats the fat under the skin for easy removal. You would probably be in treatment for an hour or so for just the chest area. Adding additional treatment areas increases the length of treatment time.
Most discomfort is just for a day or two and controls nicely with Motrin.
