Laser hair removal harnesses the power of laser light to safely and effectively STOP unwanted hair growth. During this procedure, our providers use laser energy to disable hair follicle growth. This results in visible hair reduction!
Profile MD uses the latest technology to ensure safe and lasting results. The specific laser used will depend on your skin tone as well as the thickness and color of the hair being treated. The GentleMax Pro Laser is a great option for all skin tones. It consists of a 755nm Alexandrite wavelength and a 1064 ND:YAG laser. This gives our providers the perfect combination to give you an excellent result!
Your comfort is very important. The GentleMax Pro has built in cooling to help minimize discomfort. We also prescribe a specially compounded lidocaine cream to apply one hour prior to treatment.
The laser works by disabling hair follicles that are actively producing hair at the time of treatment. Since the hair follicles are producing hair at different times, we recommend a package of six treatments for best results. Treatments should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
In some instances, touch up treatments can be needed years after your initial treatment. This may be due to hormone changes throughout life. Typically, laser hair removal results are long lasting.
The cost for laser hair removal depends on the area being treated. For example, a hairy back would be more expensive than treating armpits. For your convenience, we offer free consultations.
